5/7/2023 0 Comments Wrc 8 too unforgivingIt think $60 is far too high for it, and I bought it on sale a while back, and now it's at $12 on sale for PS4. But, the gameplay for the tracks is basically the same as WRC 7, and the tracks themselves are very nice. Sure, it is kind of like a B version of WRC 7 - there is a lot missing and (as you said) unpolished. It's like a guilty pleasure, except that there are some components that are top-quality, being inherited from WRC 7. Actually, in the video I posted for WRC 8, the car looks glued to the road when I am just desperately trying to keep it from sliding by doing the same thing - braking just so into the corner and powering out of it to prevent the car from weaving.Īlso, in both WRC 8 and V-Rally 4 I have tuned the cars for power in the low gears since there aren't any long straightaways in those particular tracks. I am constantly powering through the corner in a lower gear to maximize the angular rotation into the corner without sliding when coming out of it. In V-Rally 4, this particular car slides very easily, but has a lot of power. It's rear end moves around quite a bit around corners, and this was one of the things slowing me down. If you look at the video, the ghost car from my previous run is ahead of me here and there. I think it might be more my driving style than the physics. I'm by far not an expert at the actual physics - I just like to play them. ![]() I'm looking forward to trying for more leadearboard stats on V-Rally 4, even though it takes just as long as WRC 8 and Dirt Rally 2. The gameplay definitely rivals the video I posted for the leaderboard run on WRC 8. V-Rally 4: Kenya Stage 2 - World Record (#1 Leaderboard Run) Here is a video of my gameplay on YouTube where I set the #1 leaderboard for Kenya (Stage 2): The Hillclimbs on V-Rally 4 are also excellent. I think V-Rally 4 is one of those underrated games that gets missed in the mainstream, and I hope makes it into V-Rally 5. I was pleasantly surprised! After playing V-Rally 4 again for a while, it's once again part of my regular game playing. Since I was playing WRC 8, I didn't want to backtrack into WRC 7, so I loaded up V-Rally 4 for the first time in months. V-Rally 4 has the same basic handling and visual styles as WRC 7. The Monte Carlo tracks in WRC 7, for example, are very pretty but very different than WRC 8 to the point they look and play like different games. The styles in WRC 7 and V-Rally 4 are quite different than WRC 8, but just as beautiful in their own way. ![]() Once I had WRC 8 for a while, I realized that I missed WRC 7 and V-Rally. I had stopped playing V-Rally in favor of Dirt 4 and other games. It is beautiful to play, very challenging, and just as unforgiving as WRC 8 and WRC 7. ![]() V-Rally 4 is an underrated game, in my opinion.
